CENTRE
HASTINGS ON WAY TO THIRD RECORD IN FIVE YEARS!
For the third time in the past five
years the Municipality of Centre Hastings is on its way to setting
a new record for building construction. As of the end of June
almost $4,500,000.00 in building permits have been issued eclipsing
the record that was set in 2003......and there are still several months
left in the 2004 construction season. The variety of buildings
that are part of this record include houses (both single detatched
and duplexes), large additions to already standing houses, a Tim Horton's,
a condominium, and a six-plex rental unit.

| Centre Hastings
is a municipality that offers many advantages to those wishing to relocate
and build in our great community. The Municipality of Cenre Hastings
offers three distinct areas to purchase into and build. First,
the Village of Madoc in the north end of the municipality offers a
small urban setting ideal for young families and retirement. The
costs of fully serviced lots are competitive and reasonable, and Madoc
offers a full range of educational facilities, medical, service trades,
and recreational facilities for all from the infant to the elderly. Madoc
offers quiet, stress-reduced, and safe environment for one and
all.

Second, just south of the Village
of Madoc, lies Moira Lake and its distinctive living advantages. This
jewel of a lake offers quiet waterside properties both for summer use
and many for year-round occupation. The lake offers boating,
swimming, and some of the best fishing in the area. The largest
recent Muskie catch was over 43 pounds, and this fish is back in the
lake for you to catch. The pickerel and bass fishing is excellent. But,
best of all the lake offers a laid-back lifestyle supported by the
Moira Lake Property Owners Association, an organization that works
hard to maintain the qualities of life for all on Moira Lake
and the lake itself. |

Third, from Moira Lake south there
is the third unique living area......the mixed rural lands and farm
lands of the south end of the municipality. This area offers
a great selection of rural properties in woods, along pretty well-maintained
gently rolling secondary roads, in close proximity to farms and
tiny hamlets such as Fuller and Moira. This is a most attractive
rural landscape that offers a tranquility, peacefulness, and
serenity in contrast to the hustle and bustle of an urban setting.
The properties here are also competitively
and reasonably priced offering great locations for a future home offering
the living features you are dreaming of.
Also, the time of the writing
of this article, the municipal development charges are the lowest in
this immediate area. This can offer valuable savings. |
